Torres de Rio to Logrono…
Let’s talk communication for a bit. Glenn did his research before leaving and felt the best way to go with the phone was to purchase a SIM card. He bought through Orange and paid for an inexpensive data plan. It worked great for about a week and quit suddenly. He found a Vodafone store and…

Estella to Torres de Rio..
After a two night rest in Estella, Glenn said he was ready to tackle the 18 plus mile hike today. Talked with him and he is very tired, but made it in good time. He left this morning about 6:45 and was checked into his hotel room about 4PM Spain time, with a stop along…

Puente de Reina to Estella…

Another hard walk up and down today…a bit of a surprise! But great beauty along the way. Let’s try out a video… And always enjoy a tasty dinner with fellow peregrinos at the day’s end. Tonight is the first time Glenn will “enjoy” a dorm style accommodation… or an albergue in Spanish. Ear plugs are…

Over the mountains…
May 12th, the first official day of the camino. 24 plus kilometers over the Pyrenees Mountains and into Spain to Roncesvalles. The cool thing we discovered is that the photos he takes with his iPhone go directly into our photo library on my desktop. We thought he’d need to email them all to me! He…

Starting point…
St. Jean Pied de Port is the starting town of this path. Glenn picked up his Camino “passport” at the Pilgrim’s office in town with a scallop shell, which is a symbol seen along the road to guide travelers. He will get a stamp at each stop and receive a very fancy certificate in Santiago…
